UFC 230: Cormier vs. Lewis fight order finalized
MMA event UFC 230 takes place at Madison Square Garden in New York City on November 4 (AWST). The top of the fight-bill features the defending heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier up against ranked No.2 Derrick Lewis.
The co-main event was expected to see a middleweight battle between Chris Weidman and Luke Rockhold. The bout fell off when the latter was forced to withdraw due to injury. Ranked No.5 Ronaldo Souza aka “Jacare” was announced a replacement opponent taking on the former champion in the division.
Souza was initially lined up against David Branch, who has also received a new opponent. Ranked No.7 middleweight now takes on Jared Cannonier.
The promotion has also made official for the UFC 230 “a welterweight bout between Lyman Good and Ben Saunders and a heavyweight matchup pitting Ruslan Magomedov against Marcos Rogerio de Lima,” reads the announcement. In addition, according to UFC.com the fight order has been finalized.
The five-fight PPV card follows a four-fight preliminary card. The action starts with early prelims also comprising four bouts. The current UFC 230 lineup can be found below.
