Derrick Lewis on The Jim Rome Show

Fresh of the third-round knockout win against Alexander Volkov earlier this month in Las Vegas, Derrick Lewis (21-5, 1 NC) goes up against the defending heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier (21-1, 1 NC) on Sunday November 4 (AWST). The contest headlines UFC 230 held at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

On Thursday morning (AWST) “The Black Beast” Lewis appeared on The Jim Rome Show. The heavyweight contender talked about an upcoming event, saying he is not a mixed martial artist, and is all about the fighting and money, and he will never make more when he faces champion Daniel Cormier.

Lewis also said that beef over Cormier’s Popeyes Chicken treatment was behind them. In addition, aspiring to become a new titleholder in the division, he shared his strategy for fighting the current champion “DC”.

The UFC 230 main card also includes a four-fight middleweight lineup. The co-main event is a battle between the former champion, ranked No.3 Chris Weidman and ranked No. 5 Ronaldo Souza. The full fightcard can be found below.
