Tomas Mozny, Slovakian Giant in GLORY Kickboxing 8-man heavyweight tournament


Tomas Mozny partakes in $150k contest at GLORY 62

Kickboxing event GLORY 62 is held on December 8 at Rotterdam Ahoy in the Netherlands. A $150,000 USD contest headlines the fight show, featuring eight international heavyweights battling it out in a single-elimination tournament. Tomas Mozny aka “Slovakian Giant” partakes in the eliminator, representing WKN Top Team.

In his previous bout Tomas Mozny (20-6-1, 6 KO) challenged Polish Tomasz Sarara for World Kickboxing Network Super Heavyweight title. The championship bout held in May in Warsaw, ended in favor of the latter, who took the win by way of TKO in the fourth round after his opponent received a deep cut.

Nevertheless, “Slovakian Giant” is ready to step inside the GLORY ring for the fourth time. His previous appearance was in March also in Rotterdam, where he took a unanimous decision against Daniel Skvor. Early last year he battled out in LA, which followed his debut made in Copenhagen mid 2016.

Fighting out of Body Gym in Poprad, Tomas Monzy is familiar with partaking in a one-night tournaments. He is the winner of +500 kg contest which was featured on the card at Fight Night Saint Tropez IV, where he defeated Daniel Sam and Thomas Vanneste.

He is also the winner of WKN European Heavyweight Grand Prix, which co-headlined a pilot of kickboxing series Simply the Best produced in October 2014, where he defeated Krasimir Vulev and Radovan Kulla, as well as became a spinning-back kick sensation.

GLORY 62 Rotterdam

An upcoming GLORY 62 Rotterdam features an eight-man heavyweight tournament. To win the contest the contender has to collect three victories during one evening going through quarterfinal, semifinal and final.

The winner gets $100,000. The tournament runner-up receives $30,000. The semi-finalists are awarded $10,000 each.

To date the list of fighters partaking in the eliminator includes Benjamin Adegbuyi, Jamal Ben Saddik, Jahfarr Wilnis, Guto Inocente and Junior Tafa. Two other competitors are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
