Bare knuckle fighting is, hands down, the oldest form of combat. It has been around from the day one, and yet can it go mainstream?

A number of high profile athletes from different sports aspire to take up an opportunity and test themselves in something that one can perhaps consider as “barbaric”. The former American footballer Shawne Merriman spoke this new venture in his career, when he appeared at The Jim Rome Show.

The former NFL player (2005-2012), who was among the top linebackers in his first three seasons, talked about Bare Knuckle Fighting, which is his newest challenge. “Lights Out” Merriman expects to make his fighting debut on November 9 “if they can work out the contract details” (Nov. 10 AEST).

The Jim Rome Show is a sports radio talk-show hosted by Jim Rome on CBS. The heavyweight contender Derrick Lewis recently appeared as a guest and talked about his upcoming contest against the champion Daniel Cormier in the main event of UFC 230.
