Simply the Best Kickboxing

Simply the Best 23 was held last weekend (Nov. 10) at Ave Fenix in San Luis, Argentina. A mixed-event featured a series of kickboxing and MMA bouts with two WKN titles contested on the night.

In the main event Argentinian Fernando “Pitbull” Martinez earned WKN South American Lightweight title, scoring the second-round win by submission against Brian Araujo of Uruguay. In the co-main event Brazilian Rodrigo “Buga” Carlos took WKN International Heavyweight belt by TKO in the first round against Francisco Lefebvre of Paraguay. The complete results can be found here.

Early this week World Kickboxing Network presented a photo report from Simply the Best 23 San Luis. On Friday the organization released a highlight video of a recent show (via Facebook).

Simply the Best 23 was promoted by Jorge Acero Cali with support of Governor of San Luis Province Alberto Rodriguez Saa. It was the fifth series produced in Argentina this year, following three events held in Buenos Aires and a visit to Cordoba.

In addition, this coming Sunday (Nov. 18 AEDT) Argentina welcomes Ultimate Fighting Championship. MMA promotion makes its debut with UFC Buenos Aires fight night held at Estadio Mary Teran de Weiss.

The next Simply the Best, series 24 “La Nuit des Titans” is scheduled for November 25 in Farciennes, Belgium. The event features a four-fight WKN championship card.
