Berdon arrested on attempted murder charge, UFC fight Ostovich vs VanZant off

Rachael Ostovich’s husband Arnold Berdon was arrested for 2nd degree attempted murder, following an alleged attack on his wife, numerous media report. TMZ Sports has obtained and cited court documents in which UFC Flyweight Ostovich describes the “beating she claims she took at the hands of her husband on November 18”.

“After a night out with family, [Arnold Berdon] punched me repeatedly on the head, face, ribs, making me fall to the ground. I gasped for breath and escaped thru balcony. I coughed up blood, threw up sev. times. Cracked orbital [sic].”

Ostovich also claims Berdon had physically abused her before. She cited an incident on May 6 last year, where he allegedly punched her in the legs repeatedly, leaving bruises.

Berdon is also a pro MMA fighter competing at bantamweight. His current fight record is 7-2.

Ostovich recently requested and was granted a temporary restraining order against Berdon which expires on May 18, 2019. The pair has a 5-year-old daughter together.

According to TMZ, Berdon’s family said that “he plans to argue that he was defending himself on Nov. 18 and did not initiate the violence”.

Rachael Ostovich vs. Paige VanZant cancelled

Rachael Ostovich was scheduled to fight Paige VanZant at UFC on ESPN+ 1 (Fight Night 143) in Brooklyn, N.Y. on January 20 (AEDT). She was forced to withdraw from the contest due to received injuries, which includes a fractured orbital bone, her management, SuckerPunch Entertainment confirmed.
