Jeff Horn defeats Anthony Mundine at River City Rumble Brisbane

Australian boxers Jeff Horn and Anthony Mundine squared off this past Friday (Nov. 30) at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane. The pair headlined the fight card billed as “River City Rumble”, which included ten bouts.

The Jeff Horn vs. Anthony Mundine fight was scheduled for twelve rounds. World Boxing Association (WBA) Oceania and World Boxing Organization (WBO) Oriental Middleweight titles were on the line.

The 30-year-old Horn stopped his 43-year-old opponent Mundine in the first round. It was all over in 96 seconds.

As a result, the former WBO World Welterweight champion, Jeff Horn updates his record to 19-1-1 (13 KOs) and returns on the winning path. Anthony Mundine drops to 48-9-0 (28 KOs) and retires.

Also on the card, Brent Rice and Liam Wilson battled it out for Australian Super Featherweight. The championship bout went the distance and ended in favor of the latter.

In addition, Muay Thai fighter turned boxer Ben Mahoney remained undefeated taking a split decision against his Australian-fellow Adrian Rodriguez at super welterweight. The complete fight results from River City Rumble can be found below.
