Armin Dokic wins WKN Italian kickboxing tournament

The World Kickboxing Network visited Italian city capital this past Saturday (Dec. 15) with international promotion billed as Invictus Arena 25. Taking place at PalaSantoro in Rome, the event presented by Riccardo Lecca featured two WKN Grand Prix contested in the format of four-man knockout tournament.

One of the eliminators featured international kickboxers squaring off at 65 kg. Another contest presented the Italian competitors battling it out for a strap at 75 kg. To take all the contender had to collect two victories during one evening going through semi-final and final.

The representative of the country-host Francesco Picca took all international tournament. In the opening round the Italian fighter defeated Petru Morari of Moldova. In the championship bout he took a decision against Belgian Xavier Lejour. On the way to the final the latter defeated German Dennis Haddad.

In addition, Picca added a new title belt to his collection. Last year he won WKN Italian Lightweight championship scoring a decision against Natale Allegra.

Armin Dokic became the winner of Italian contest. In the semi-final bout he took the win against Roman Kozak. In the final he came out victorious against Francesco Palermo, who defeated Fatmir Gordi in the another semi-final.

The undercard featured a series of kickboxing and MMA bouts. Among the results, Pietro Mochetti defeated Davide Barbacaro, and Claudio Pacella defeated Fabio Di Cristo.
