Canelo Alvarez $365 mil DAZN deal launched
Mexican star Saul “Canelo” Alvarez faced British boxer Michael “Rocky” Fielding this past Sunday (Dec. 16 AEDT) in New York. The latter fought in defense of WBA regular Suoer Middleweight.
Talking place at famed Madison Square Garden, the championship round was scheduled for twelve rounds. And yet, the fight was waved off at 2:38 of Round 3.
Over the course of encounter Canelo dropped his opponent four times. British boxer was knocked down in the first and second rounds with left to the body.
In the third Mexican landed right to the jaw. The contest was stopped later in the round after another left to the body reached its target.
As a result, Canelo Alvarez added WBA world super-middleweight title to his collection and updated his record to 51-1-2, 35 KO. In addition, the event launched his new five-year, 11-fight, $365 million deal with DAZN.
Rocky Fielding dropped to 27-2. The defeat against Alvarez snapped his six-fight win streak.
In his previous outing in September Canelo Alvarez took a majority decision in the rematch against Gennady Golovkin as well asearned WBA (Super), WBC and vacant The Ring and lineal middleweight titles. Their third battle has been suggested for mid 2019.
