Muay Thai star Yodsanklai Fairtex partakes in ONE Featherweight Grand Prix


ONE Super Series Featherweight World Grand Prix

Muay Thai star Yodsanklai Fairtex is featured on the list of eight international competitors partaking in ONE Super Series Featherweight World Grand Prix. To take all “The Boxing Computer” is required to earn three victories, going through quarter-final, semi-final and final.

“Eight of the world’s best stand-up martial artists will meet in a tournament in ONE Championship next year. In 2019, the ONE Super Series Featherweight World Grand Prix will take place across Asia, featuring World Champion versus World Champion match-ups in every round,” reads the announcement on promotion’s website.

The quarter-final contests will feature the following world-class competitors from seven countries. Alongside Yodsanklai Fairtex, the list of competitors includes Italian Giorgio Petrosyan, Dutch Andy Souwer, French Samy Sana, Russian Dzhabar Askerov, Thai Jo Nattawut and Petchmorrakot Petchyindee Academy, and Charlie Peters of the UK.

Earlier this month Yodsanklai Fairtex has been announced for his next outing scheduled for March 31 in Tokyo. Going through the ropes in the Land of the Rising Sun he faces Andy Souwer for the second time aspiring to take a revenge for their first encounter which was held eleven years ago.

As understood, Yodsanklai Fairtex vs. Andy Souwer fight is one of the first quarter-final bouts of the Grand Prix. The full slate of first-round match-ups is expected to be announced in the coming weeks, as well as the dates and locations.
