GLORY 64 Strasbourg: Anissa Meksen defends super bantamweight title against Tiffany Van Soest
GLORY Kickboxing visits French city Strasbourg on March 9. The event No. 64 takes place at Rhenus Sport featuring women’s super bantamweight championship bout between the current titleholder Anissa Meksen and the former champion Tiffany Van Soest. In addition the pair meets for the second time in a highly anticipated rematch.
In her previous bout last November in New York Anissa Meksen (97-4, 31 KO) stopped Jady Menezes. Going through the ropes in Strasbourg she faces “the foe that presented her toughest challenge to date in former super bantamweight champion Tiffany Van Soest (19-3-1, 6 KO),” reads the announcement.
“Time Bomb” Van Soest is the first GLORY Super Bantamweight champion, winning four times for the organization before dropping the belt in 2017 to Meksen at GLORY 48 New York. Currently ranked No.1 in the division she has an opportunity to take a revenge as well as regain the title.
GLORY 64 Strasbourg also includes the first strings of light heavyweight class featuring Michael “Dreamcrusher” Duut (43-10, 20 KO) up against Donegi Abena (23-5, 6 KO). The bout serves as a co-main event.
Among the bouts featured on the Super Fight Series part of the programme, Mohamed Abdallah take on Daniel Skvor at heavyweight, and Matej Penaz goes up against Yassine Ahaggan at middleweight. Other bouts are expected to be announced in the coming weeks. The current lineup can be found below.
