Full Contact Karate live from exotic locations
Karate Combat: Hollywood takes place at the Avalon Hollywood in Los Angeles, CA on January 24 (Jan. 25 AEDT). The event kicks off the second season of competitions in exotic locations live on Karate.com.
Last week the organization presented the ten-fight card of the upcoming show, featuring the representatives of eleven different countries. Furthermore, Hollywood star Danny Trejo has been announced as the host of a highly anticipated event.
Topping up the bill, “Elbow Master” Nathan Corbett attends the event as a special guest. New Zealand-born Australian Muay Thai fighter earned his nickname “Carnage” due to devastating elbow strikes, recording 44 knockouts in 59 victorious outings out of 65 bouts in total.
Over the course of his fighting “Carnage” Corbett won eleven world titles in three weight classes, including WKN Heavyweight championship, which he successfully defended three times. Yet, the man, who is widely considered as arguably the best heavyweight to ever compete in Muay Thai, has started his journey with Karate, which he often reminisces in Carnage Diary.
“I’m very excited to watch the Karate Combat in Hollywood. It’s great to see Karate coming back to a big stage again, and to allow Karate practitioners to showcase their amazing talent and traditional techniques,” says “the man with the golden elbows” Nathan Corbett.
“My beginning in Martial Arts was Karate, so I have a huge respect for it. I love that I get to be at this event watching and seeing how the art and sport has evolved since I was a teenager, 20 years ago.”
Among others, the list of notable personalities attending Karate Combat: Hollywood includes combat sports hall of famer Bas Rutten and fight expert Sean Wheelock providing ring side commentary. YouTube star Faze Sensei provides vlogs and behind the scenes content, while Rocsi Diaz (106th + Park, Entertainment Tonight) hosts the red carpet.
