Jonny Lee Miller made his official Muay Thai debut on February 1 in New York City. The 46-year-old English actor stepped inside the square circle for the second time following an exhibition fight which fulfilled his “childhood dream” last May.
Going through the ropes at Broad Street Ballroom, Trainspotting star Miller faced Robert Bermudez. The pair battled it out on the card billed as “Friday Night Fights”.
The scheduled for three rounds 145-pound bout ended prior the final bell. In Round 3 Miller dropped his opponent to the canvas with right cross followed by left hook, declaring a knockout.
“3rd round knockout. Respect and best wishes to my opponent Robert Bermudez,” Jonny Lee Miller posted on Instagram after the fight. “Thanks Friday Night Fights for the opportunity. Thank you for all the amazing support. Thank you to the incredible team and community at Evolution Muay Thai New York City you know who you are. Extra thanks to the fight team for all the selfless hours and sharing of knowledge and especially Will Watson for being in my corner (not just on fight night). Brandon Levi is not only a superb muay thai instructor and coach, but an inspirational man and mentor to many people. It is truly an honour to represent him and his club. Love you mate.”
Jonny Lee Miller is known for numerous movies and TV show. Since 2012 he has been a lead character in Elementary on CBS, portraying a modern-day Sherlock Holmes. The release date of Season 7 is expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
