WKN Northern Ireland: International Kickboxing made in Prokick
The World Kickboxing Network visits Northern Ireland on February 23 with the next edition of Billy Murray promotion held in Belfast. The “made in Prokick” event takes place at Stormont Hotel featuring local Johnny Smith up against Christos Venizelou of Cyprus. The pair tops the fight-bill squaring off in the scheduled for three rounds WKN International bout in oriental kickboxing (K-1 rules).
Six other matchups presented on the main card were announced this week (via Prokick). The roster includes the representatives of the country-host face off international competitors coming from Scotland, Ireland, England, Cyprus, Iran and Lithuania.
The 75 kg battle between Salman Shariati and Pijus Dreviniskas serves as the co-main event. Also on the card the 54 kg teenage bout between Jay Snodden and George Lordanidis. The current lineup can be found below.
President of World Kickboxing Network Stephane Cabrera has been announced as the special guest at the upcoming Prokick show in Belfast.
“Billy Murray has been my friend for over 25 years. He is the person whom I’ve always admired and taken as an example in sport,” said WKN President Stephane Cabrera.
“He is the combat sports image for all Northern Irish youth. [He is the] former kickboxing world champion in four divisions, very strong and popular fighter. He has also been the biggest and most prolific kickboxing promoter in the UK. It’s with a great pleasure I travel to Belfast on February 23 to attended his next Prokick event.”
The finalized fight card is expected to be announced in the coming days.
