WKN Northern Ireland made in Prokick
The World Kickboxing Network returned to Northern Ireland this past Saturday (Feb. 23) with “made in Prokick” event presented by Billy Murray at Stormont Hotel in Belfast. The fight card featured a series of bouts with local and international competitors coming Cyprus, Italy, Scotland, Ireland and Switzerland.
In the main event the representative of the country-host Johnny Smith faced Christos Venizelou of Cyprus. The pair of welterweights squared off in the scheduled for three rounds WKN International matchup. The bout went the distance and ended in favor of local fighter who earned a unanimous decision.
Also on the card Rowena Bolt battled it out against Maura Scano of Italy. The 50 kg, women’s kickboxing bout also went the distance, with the representative of Northern Ireland taking the win by a unanimous decision.
In addition, Swiss-born Killian Emery came out victorious by knockout in the third round against Shane Weir of Scotland, and local Jay Snoddon took a unanimous decision against Nikolas Charalambous of Cyprus.
