Saenchai was back in the ring last night (Mar. 8) in the UAE. Battling it out in the main event of Fight Night Dubai, the famed fighter faced the Ukrainian competitor Valerii Abramenko. The pair of welterweights went a three-round Muay Thai distance.
The opening round saw Saenchai putting the pressure on his opponent, executing a series of takedowns. Yet, the Thai fighter also appeared to be “tagged” receiving a cut on his nose.
In the second round Abramenko fought back, moreover strived to move forward. The third and final round saw a similar picture, nevertheless Saenchai comfortably earned a unanimous decision showcasing a variety of Muay Thai techniques including his trademark cartwheel kick.
The bout in Dubai was the first appearance of Saenchai in the UAE. It was also his first outing of two-fight schedule this month.
The former four-division Lumpinee Boxing Stadium champion is scheduled to headline an upcoming edition of “Thai Fight” held on March 30 in Nakhon Si Thammarat. The name of his opponent is expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
