The World Kickboxing Network visited Germany on March 9 with the event billed as Fighting Rookies 4. Presented by Ingo Baberski the fight show took place in the city Halle (Saale) featuring a series of bouts with two WKN titles contested on the top of the bill.
In the main event Ronny Kamenik of Germany faced off Luca Renzi of Italy. The pair battled it out for WKN European Welterweight pro-amateur title in oriental kickboxing (K-1 rules). The bout went the distance with a unanimous decision pronounced in favor of the representative of the country-host, reads the event recap sent out by the organization.
Ultimately, Kamenik added a new belt to his collection, following last May, when he claimed WKN German Welterweight title by knockout in the fourth round against Kevin Schotz.
Also on the night Robert Varkentin became WKN German Super Light Heavyweight pro-amateur champion scoring a unanimous decision against Kupke. The championship supervisor was Klaus Hagemann.
