Women’s Flyweight title is on the line on June 9 (AEDT) when Ultimate Fighting Championship returns to Chicago, Illinois with the PPV UFC 238 event held at United Center. The reigning champion Valentina Shevchenko is scheduled to make her first defense against ranked No.1 Jessica Eye, the promotion announced on Tuesday (via Twitter).

Shevchenko (16-3) won a vacant UFC Women’s Flyweight title against Joanna Jedrzejczyk scoring a unanimous decision at UFC 231 produced last December. Before that “Bullet” submitted Priscila Cachoeira in the second round, which marked her return to the flyweight class, as well as earned her “Performance of the Night”.

“Evil” Eye (14-6, 1 NC) won three bouts in a row. In her previous outing she took a split decision against Katlyn Chookagian battling it out on the same UFC 231 event headlined by Max Holloway up against Brian Ortega. In June 2018 Eye earned a unanimous decision against Jessica-Rose Clark, which followed a split decision win against Kalindra Faria early last year.

The Shevchenko vs. Eye championship bout is scheduled for five rounds. The list of announced to date matchups for UFC 238 can be found below.
