WKN Directors visit Central Asia

WKN Central Asia

Stephane Cabrera and Osman Yigin visit Central Asia. The Directors of World Kickboxing Network arrived to Almaty, Kazakhstan mid last week where they met the local promoter Nuraddin Sadykov, and held kickboxing seminar at Namys Fight Club.

A special meeting has been organized with Yermakhan Ibraimov at the Olympic Training Center, as well as greeting of national boxing team of Kazakhstan. Ibraimov is the Gold medalist at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney where on the way to the top spot he earned five victories in the light middleweight class (71 kg). He also took Bronze at the 1996 Games in Atlanta and 1999 World Amateur Boxing Championships in Houston.

In addition, Cabrera and Yigin visited Kyrgyzstan where they met the promoters of Jash-Kuch Fighting Championship in Bishkek. The country is well-known in combat sports for its stars, Muay Thai champion turned UFC fighter (current women’s flyweight titleholder) Valentina Shevchenko and former unified middleweight world boxing champion Gennady Golovkin.

The WKN travel to Central Asia follows the visits to Tanzania, Zanzibar, Iran and Nepal.
