Argentinian kickboxing star Jorge “Acero” Cali is scheduled for two bouts this year. In May he squares off against an old rival Horacio “El Ninja” Enrique, which precedes the battle with Marcos “El Chino” Maidana targeted for September, FIGHTMAG learned.
“Acero” Cali faces “El Ninja” Enrique for the third time. The pair first met in 2010 at the Estadio Luna Park in Buenos Aires when the MMA bout ended in the fourth round proclaiming “No Contest” due to an accidental strike landed on the latter. Their second encounter was held three years later at the same venue, where Enrique scored the second-round TKO win.
The contest with the famed boxer “El Chino” Maidana (35-5, 31 KO) was initially announced late last month when former WBA (Regular) super lightweight and welterweight champion called out “Acero” Cali via a video message posted on Instagram. In his two previous bouts in 2014 “El Chino” battled it out against Floyd Mayweather Jr.
Three years later he is back to training. To date “El Chino” has reportedly lost 11 kilograms in two weeks.

The rules of the bouts and dates are yet to be announced. Nevertheless, the third battle between Cali and Enrique is expected in MMA, while the encounter with Maidana is likely to mark boxing debut of “Acero”, who over the course of his career held World Kickboxing Network Super Cruiserweight title.
