The Night of Super Fight 7

Kickboxing World Championship returns to Sardinia on July 6. The event billed as “The Night of Super Fight 7” takes place in Iglesias. It follows the previous edition presented in April 2017, when local Lorenzo Piras defeated Belgian Allan Gozdzicki and became a new WKN Lightweight champion, which marked the first time when a prestigious belt was contested on a large Italian island in the Mediterranean Sea.

An upcoming show is headlined by previously announced Italian fighter Nicola Canu. The representative of Sardinia is two-time WKN European Super Featherweight champion.

Canu earned European Gold against French Jeremy Legrand by a unanimous decision in 2016. He successfully defended his belt against another French fighter Jouhri Abdelmalek, scoring knockout in the second round.

In December 2016 Canu took a short notice bout replacing Czech Frantisek Adam in the world title bout against Poland’s Tomasz Makowski at kickboxing series Simply the Best 13 Nowa Sol. The latter hover claimed the strap by a unanimous decision.

Three years later, battling it out in Iglesias on July 6, Nicola Canu makes his second attempt to become World Kickboxing Network Super Featherweight champion. The name of his opponent is expected to be announced in the coming weeks.

The Night of Super Fight 7 is presented by Alessandro and Antonio Alias. It is the second visit of World Kickboxing Network to Italy this year following Ringmania 6 held early February in Pero.
