Nong-O defends against Suzuki, Petchdam vs. Mahmoudi for vacant belt

ONE Championship returns to Bangkok on May 10 with the event billed as “Warriors of Light”, following the previous edition held in Thailand earlier this year. The upcoming show takes place at the Impact Arena featuring a mixed-fight bill with two titles contested on the night.

In the main event Nong-O Gaiyanghadao defends his ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai title facing off Hiroaki Suzuki. The championship bout is scheduled for five rounds.

The representative of the country-host Nong-O makes his first title defense. He earned the inaugural strap by a unanimous decision against Han Zi Hao in February. The resume of Thai fighter also includes four Lumpinee Stadium titles in different weight classes, as well as Rajadamnern Stadium title.

Representing “The Land of the Rising Sun” Hiroaki Suzuki is coming of the second round TKO win against Mohammed Bin Mahmoud claimed in January. Before that the Japanese athlete scored a unanimous decision against Deividas Danyla.

In the co-main event Petchdam Petchyindee Academy takes on Elias Mahmoudi. The pair battles it out for the inaugural ONE Flyweight kickboxing belt. The contest is also scheduled for five rounds.

Thai Petchdam held Lumpinee Stadium and WBC titles, while his Algerian opponent Mahmoudi earned WMF, WPMF, and MTGP belts. Other bouts are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
