The WKN European title is on the line on July 13 in Spanish Badalona (municipality to the immediate north east of Barcelona in Catalonia). The event was initially scheduled for June but was re-set for a later date. Top of the fight-bill features lightweight representative of the country-host Antonio Campoy contesting for a prestigious belt in his respective weight class, the organization announced on Saturday.
Previously winning the title of WKN Spanish Lightweight champion, Campoy represents Team Calvet. He earned the strap by a unanimous decision against Rafa Valle in October 2014 in Barcelona. The following year he made a successful defense of his belt similarly defeating his country-fellow Eric Garcia. The resume of Campoy also includes the battles against Eddy Nait Slimani, Antar Kacem, among others.
Going through the ropes in front of his home crowd mid July, Antonio Campoy attempts to become a new WKN European Lightweight champion. The name of the second title challenger is expected to announced in the coming weeks. In addition, the event also includes three WKN Spanish national title bouts with the participants yet to be named.
