Youssef Boughanem stops Joe Craven to win WKN Super Welterweight Muay Thai title

Three WKN world champions crowned at PSM Fight Night in Brussels

Three WKN world titles were contested last night (Apr. 22) in Belgium. Muay Thai event, billed as “PSM Fight Night”, was held in Brussels featuring some of the best representatives of the country-host up against international opponents in a series of championship bouts.

In the main event Moroccan-Belgian Youssef Boughanem squared off against Joe Craven of England. The pair battled it out for WKN Super Welterweight title. The scheduled for five rounds contest didn’t go the distance. The local fighter claimed the win by TKO in the fourth round after knocking his opponent down twice, which was enough for the referee Raphael Girardi to wave the fight off.

The co-main event featured the brother of Youssef, Yassine Boughanem facing off Portuguese Bruno Susano in the WKN Super Heavyweight title fight. The bout also ended before the final bell. Boughanem was proclaimed as the winner by TKO after the doctor stopped the contest due to cut received by Susano.

In addition, Armenian-Belgian Arman Hamberyan and Russian-Chechen Arbi Emiev shared the ring in the WKN Welterweight title bout. The latter took the win by TKO in Round 4, also due to cut.

PSM Fight Night in Brussels followed the previous episode of Simply the Best produced in Farciennes last November. The championship supervisor was Osman Yigin, representing World Kickboxing Network.
