Kickboxing event GLORY 65 takes place at Central Studios in Utrecht, Netherlands on May 17. The event is headlined by a pair of title bouts featuring the defending middleweight titleholder Alex Pereira up against former champion Jason Wilnis, and the defending lightweight champion Sitthichai Sitsongpeenong face off Marat Grigorian.

The recent addition to the GLORY 65 fight card is a battle at lightweight between Itay Gershon and Luke Whelan, which makes it 11 bouts announced to date in total. The contest is featured on the SuperFight Series part of the program.

“Gershon is 3-0 in GLORY and hoping to extend that to 4-0 when he faces newcomer Luke ‘Skywalker’ Whelan at GLORY 65 Utrecht,” reads the announcement. “Whelan is from London, England and fights out of Double K Gym, where for most of his career he has been trained by the widely-respected Kieran Keddle.”

“Gershon is ranked #6 and will crack the top five if he wins, edging his name into the title contender picture. Whelan has won British, European and world titles in Muay Thai and kickboxing and also holds a win over GLORY veteran Vinny Church.”

Among other contests featured on the card, Junior Tafa faces Cihad Kepenek at heavyweight, and Bailey Sugden takes on Thong Fairtex at featherweight. The current lineup for GLORY 65 can be found below.
