Juan Francisco Estrada takes revenge against Srisaket Sor Rungvisai

Thai Srisaket Sor Rungvisai and Mexican Juan Francisco Estrada faced off for the second time on April 27 (AEDT). The contest took place at The Forum in Inglewood, California – the same venue accommodating their first encounter in February 2018.

Sor Rungvisai entered the square circle as the defending WBC Super Flyweight champion, as well as The Ring and lineal super flyweight titles holder. Estrada aspired to avenge the defeat suffered by majority decision in their first battle, as well as become a new champion in the division.

The scheduled for twelve rounds championship bout also went the distance. Yet, a unanimous decision was pronounced in favor of challenger.

Ultimately Estrada evened the score, taking the belts. He also updated his record to 39-3-0, 26 KO.

Sor Rungvisai suffered the first defeat in five years, which snapped his 20-fight win streak. He dropped to 47-5-1, 41 KO.

The trilogy bout is possible.
