Ferguson last fought in October when he defeated Anthony Pettis. He has since suffered some mental health issues which he said recently he had been cleared of to fight.
Ferguson will be looking to get back into title contention with a win in what could be considered a title eliminator match up.
A match up between current champion Khabib Nurmagomedov and Tony Ferguson has been scheduled on several occasions only for the fight to fall down due to injuries to both fighters. Ferguson will be hoping the fight can finally come to fruition should he be triumphant against the inform Cerrone.
