Two World Kickboxing Network titles at stake in Reunion

The World Kickboxing Network visits Réunion Island on June 29 with a double championship event held at Nelson Mandela Gymnasium in Saint Pierre. The names of opponents for the previously announced local competitors have been revealed over the weekend during the “Domination Fight Night” held in Aarhus, Denmark. The upcoming show is billed as “La Nuit du K1 – Les Défis du Sud”, which translates from French as “The Night of K1 – The Challenges of the South”.

The main event features local Yasser Olivier Lagarrigue up against Julien Schelkens of Belgium. The pair battles it out for WKN Intercontinental Super Lightweight title. The bout is scheduled for five rounds in oriental kickboxing (K-1 rules).

In the co-main event Vianney Seperoumal takes on Lahcen Ait Oussakour, also representing Belgium. The contest is as well scheduled for five rounds with WKN Continental Middleweight belt at stake.

The happening marks the return of prestigious sports organization to Indian Ocean. The previous show held in the region was produced last July in another French Department, Mayotte.

Czech Daniel Veidenthaler came out victorious from his battle against Denmark’s Mathias Egekvist Skovsted this past Saturday (May 18) in Aarhus. The protegee of former World Kickboxing Network Super Heavyweight champion Odrej Hutnik earned a unanimous decision taking WKN International Heavyweight title in the headliner of “Domination” presented by Mohammad F. Tehrani.

The next on WKN calendar is two back to back events scheduled for May 25 in France and Czech Republic.

Taking place in Agde “TEKB 16” is headlined by French Mickael Pignolo up against Slovakian Stefan Meszaros with WKN Super Welterweight title on the line. Czech mixed martial artist Alexander Cverna defends his WKN International Super Heavyweight title against Serbian Dalibor Milutinovic in the main event of “NOC Valecniku 16” in Kladno.
