Hungarian kickboxer David Mihajlov goes up against South Korean K-1 and Pride veteran Choi Hong-man tonight (June 10) at Sindorim Techno Mart Grand Ballroom in Seoul. The pair of super heavyweights squares off in a feature fight at the AFC 12 event billed as “Hero of the Belt”.
In his previous outing last November Choi Hong-man faced Yi Long (future opponent of Buakaw Banchamek) in an exhibition matchup, which was his first appearance inside the ring in two years. Before that he suffered four defeats in a row against Zhou Zhipeng, Ray Sefo, Badr Hari and Jerome Le Banner. Nevertheless the resume of 38-year-old includes the wins against Semmy Schilt, Mighty Mo, Bob Sapp and others, which he earned during the heyday of original K-1.
The resume of David Mihajlov, 24, includes the battles against Bogdan Nastase, Marius Munteanu, Roman Shcherbatiuk, among others. He brings to the table 15 wins out of 20 bouts in total, including 9 KO (via Asian MMA).

At the weigh-in ceremony conducted on Sunday (June 9) the 2.19 meter-tall representative of the country-host weighed-in at 150 kg. His Hungarian opponent, standing at 1.95 m, showed 110 kg.
The Choi Hong-man vs. David Mihajlov kickboxing bout is scheduled for three rounds at openweight.
The matchup is presented in collaboration between AFC (Angel’s Fighting) and TFN (The Fighting Network). The event marks the return of World Kickboxing Network to Korea, following the – Dong-Su Kim vs. Kevin Burmester for WKN Lightweight title – World Championship bout held in May 2015.
The main event of AFC 12 features Seo Jin-Soo up against Song Young-Jae. The pair battles it out for the promotion’s inaugural bantamweight belt. Among other bouts, Sasha Palatnikov takes on Son Sung-Won for a vacant middleweight strap.
