The second edition of Total Carnage Fight Night was held on September 1, 2012. The event presented by Cross Promotions International took place at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre. It followed the first show produced five months earlier, which went in history as arguably the best Muay Thai production Australia has ever seen.
Top of the fight-bill saw Nathan “Carnage” Corbett up against Steve “The Smashing Machine” McKinnon. The pair squared off for the second time. The six years in a making rematch saw Australia’s ranked No.1 and ranked No.2 heavyweights going head to head during five rounds of Muay Thai. The verdict heard “Carnage” Corbett taking the win by a unanimous decision.
The video of the main event battle was previously released (You can watch on YouTube). This week a pair of undercard bouts hit the stream featuring Mark Lucchiari face off Michael Badato, and Michael Thompson up against Kampan Santaweesook.
Mark Lucchiari vs. Michael Badato
Middleweights Mark Lucchiari of Queensland and Michael Badato of New South Wales met in the fourth bout of the night. The scheduled for five rounds interstate matchup didn’t go the distance. With a three knockdown rule in place the latter was awarded a TKO victory after the referee stopped the contest at 2 minutes and 50 seconds of the second round.
Michael Thompson vs Kampan Santaweesook
“Tomahawk” Michael Thompson of Australia went up against Kampan Santaweesook of Thailand in a five-round international battle preceding the co- and main event bouts. The pair of lightweights put on an exciting performance which ended in a unanimous points decision pronounced in favor of the local competitor.
