PROKICK Back at the Clayton results
WKN Intercontinental title was on the line last night (June 23) in Belfast, where Billy Murray presented the next edition of international kickboxing “Made-in Prokick”. The event billed as “Back at the Clayton” took place at Clayton Hotel featuring Northern Ireland’s Johnny “Swift” Smith, representing Europe, up against South Korean Lee Ji Hoon, representing Asia. The pair of welterweights squared off in the scheduled for five rounds championship bout under oriental rules (K-1 style).
The contest didn’t go the full distance. The representative of the country-host, Smith, claimed the win by TKO in the fourth round, after the referee Bob Hunter waved the fight off “under the direction of the ringside doctor,” Kathryn Warren reported.

“Smith demonstrated his strong technical ability, working cleverly from distance and picking his shots with boxing, kicks and knees. As the rounds progressed, Johnny’s dominance increased – front kicks landing flush on Lee’s face, jumping knees doing damage and the roar of the crowd proving all too much for the tough Korean.”
The rest of the card featured a series of amateur matchups with local and international competitors. The event marked the second visit of World Kickboxing Network to Northern Ireland this year.
