UFC Minneapolis presented the twelve-fight card at Target Center on July 30 (AEST). MMA event on ESPN was headlined by a heavyweight battle between Junior Dos Santos and Francis Ngannou. The contest ended in the first round in favor of the latter, who scored the win by TKO with punches.
The co-main event featured a flyweight encounter between Jussier Formiga and Joseph Benavidez. The bout also ended prior to the final horn. Benavidez claimed the TKO win in Round 2.

Also on the main card Demian Maia took a majority decision against Anthony Rocco Martin at welterweight, and Vinc Pichel scored a unanimous decision against Roosevelt Roberts at lightweight. In addition, Drew Dober stopped Marco Polo Reyes in the first round also at lightweight, and Alonzo Menifield knocked out Paul Craig in Round 1 at light heavyweight.
Among the bouts on the preliminary card Ricardo Ramos came out victorious by a unanimous decision from his bantamweight bout against Journey Newson. As well, Eryk Anders stopped Vinicius Moreira in the first round of their light heavyweight matchup.
