The Night of Super Fight 7: Canu vs. Vieira

Brandon Vieira is a new opponent for Nicola Canu in the WKN World Super Featherweight title bout scheduled for this coming Saturday (July 6) at Piazza Sella in Iglesias, Sardinia, World Kickboxing Network announced on Monday. The pair headlines The Night of Super Fight 7. The French competitor took the fight on a short notice, replacing Vasek Sivak of Czech Republic, who was forced to withdraw due to injury.

Vieira (50-8-2) is a newly-crowned WKN World Super Featherweight champion under oriental rules (K-1 style). He claimed the belt by TKO against Alessandro Moretti in April. In his previous outing late May Viera took a unanimous decision against Zhou Yingjiang in a three-round non-title match. The upcoming world championship bout against Canu is scheduled for five rounds in “low kick”.

The representative of Sardinia, Canu is a two-time WKN European Super Featherweight champion. He earned the strap against Jeremy Legrand by a unanimous decision, and made a successful defense by knockout in the second round against Jouhri Abdelmalek.

In summary, the Canu vs. Vieira bout features European Champion up against World Champion. The latter has a chance to become a two-style titleholder and join Maltese Keith Azzopardi, who recently earned world titles in two different disciplines within two weeks.

The undercard features a series of bouts with local and international competitors.
