Established in 2019 by film director and producer Amélie Ravalec, and Total Boxer founder and media entrepreneur Matt Garcia, Cornerman Films brings together 30 years of filmmaking, advertising and boxing experience. The company produces high-end commercials, documentaries and fiction exclusively for the boxing and martial arts market.

Amélie Ravalec is a London-based film director, video editor and colourist. Her third documentary, “Art & Mind” is a journey into art, madness and the unconscious, an exploration of visionary artists and the creative impulse, from the Flemish Masters of the Renaissance to the avant-garde movement of Surrealism and the unsung geniuses of Art Brut and Outsider Art. The film opened theatrically April 2019, with over 200 screenings worldwide.
Amélie’s previous documentary Industrial Soundtrack For The Urban Decay traces the origins of Industrial music, from the crumbling industrial cities of Europe to America’s thriving avant-garde scene. Industrial Soundtrack opened theatrically May 2015 with over 130 screenings in 30 countries, and was acquired by ARTE TV in 2017. The film was featured in The Guardian, Sight & Sound, Film Comment, Vice, Pitchfork, Fact and The Wire.
Ravalec’s debut film Paris/Berlin: 20 Years Of Underground Techno documents the underground movement of techno through the lens of two very different cities, from secret Parisian parties to Berlin’s infamous Berghain club. Paris/Berlin was released in 2012 in 20 countries and won the Festival Pick Award at Sydneys Fringe Festival in 2013.
Matt Garcia is a London-born media entrepreneur. With an extensive business career, principally in creative arts, in 1996 Matt established one of the UK’s first internet design and tech agencies, with clients including Virgin Atlantic, BBC and Macmillian.
A keen photographer, Matt also set-up a photographic agency based in his London Daylight Studio in Crouch End, North London, As well as studio portraiture with guests including actress Keira Knightley and director, Marc Foster, Matt worked extensively in music, reportage and events in both the public and private sector, with clients including the Royal Navy, Barclays Bank and Shell.
After more than 15 years in media and photography Matt sought a change of pace and his next challenge. A fully qualified England Boxing coach, in 2012 Matt founded the Total Boxer Group of Companies, establishing now award-winning boxing fitness club, Total Boxer in North London, BoxingYoga – the yoga-based training system for boxers today operating in more than 24 countries worldwide, HIIB – High Intensity Interval Boxing, the original HIIT-meets-boxing class and Strongman Academy UK – the UK’s only official provider of endorsed Strongman Training.
