Vitaly Gurkov and Komkit “Jak 300” Chanawong squared off as many fifteen years ago at the “Western Muaythai Progression” event. The fight show took place at Craigie Leisure Centre in Craigie (Perth), Western Australia on December 2, 2006.
The 67 kg catchweight battle between the Belarusian competitor and the represent of Thailand held on Australian soil went the distance. After five rounds of all-around Muay Thai, Gurkov took the win by split decision.

Rob Powdrill vs. Chad Walker
The event was headlined by Rob Powdrill up against Chad Walker. The pair met in the 83 kg catchweight bout. After three rounds of action the latter took a split decision.
Caley Reece vs. Kate Boyd
Among other bouts featured on the card, Kate Boyd (Houston at that time) faced Caley Reece (Lewis at that time). The contest was for WMC West Australian State Muay Thai title. The encounter went the distance and ended in favor of the latter, who earned the win by a unanimous decision.
The event also saw Daniel Dawson stopping Abhay Chand (Taniela Vatunicoko) in the second round of their 70 kg boxing encounter. As well, Marc De Mori TKO’d Fatu Tuimanono in the second round of their heavyweight matchup.
