With just a little over five months left in 2019, let’s have a look at the announced to date kickboxing matchups*. The list includes some of the notable competitors and events of the current era. The lineup is presented chronologically.

Giorgio Petrosyan vs Jo Nattawut

Giorgio Petrosyan and Jo Nattawut square off on August 16 at the Impact Arena in Bangkok. The pair meets for the second time. Their first encounter in April 2018 ended in favor of Petrosyan, who scored a unanimous decision.

Their upcoming battle is one of the semi-finals of ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Grand Prix. The three-round bout co-headlines the event billed as “ONE: Dreams of Gold”.

Dzhabar Askerov vs Samy Sana

Dzhabar Askerov and Samy Sana meet is another semi-final of WGP alongside Petrosyan-Nattawut 2. With the 15cm height difference the pair also contests for a ticket to the final with US $1,000,000 up for grabs.

Buakaw Banchamek vs Yi Long

Buakaw Banchamek and Yi Long meet for the third time on October 8 at KITEC in Hong Kong. The contest features famed Muay Thai fighter and Kung Fu practitioner facing off in the nine-minute decider.

Each has previously earned a decision over another. In order to come out victorious from the trilogy, the upcoming clash requires to score a knockout.

Greg Tony vs Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva

Gregory Tony puts his World Kickboxing Network Super Heavyweight title on the line when he faces Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva on November 30 at The Trusts Arena in Auckland. The encounter features French star up against famed Brazilian mixed martial artist. The scheduled for five rounds bout headlines WKN World Cup 2019.

Rico Verhoeven vs Badr Hari

Rico Verhoeven and Badr Hari meet in a rematch at GelreDome in Arnhem on December 21. A highly anticipated clash of heavyweights headlines “GLORY Collision 2: Unfinished Business”.

Their first encounter in December 2016 ended in the second round. Verhoeven took the win by TKO after Hari received arm injury.
