IFMA Muay Thai World Championships 2019
Three days of IFMA Muay Thai Worlds are already in the history books. The event is held at the Sports Authority of Thailand in Bangkok from July 19 to July 29, featuring the athletes from all around the Globe battling it out across three rings.
Team Australia is traditionally represented by a large delegation comprising male and female competitors. Sze Sze Rowlinson, competing in the women’s 48 kg class, has had a successful run, scoring two back to back victories.

“Sze Sze wins the quarter final against Morroco. 2 fights and 2 wins in 2 days. Into the medal round on Saturday. She was awesome and dominated for a solid points wins [sic],” Muaythai Australia reported from Bangkok on Thursday (via a post on Facebook).
In the opening round on Wednesday, Rowlinson faced Rachele Tidei of Team Italy. After three rounds of women’s Muay Thai the Melbourne-based fighter was awarded the decision (30-27).
Today (July 25) she took on Belouarrat Oumaima of Morocco. The contest as well went a three-round distance and similarly ended in the 30-27 decision in favor of representative of “Green and Gold”.
In her next outing this coming Saturday (July 27), Sze Sze Rowlinson goes up against the representative of the country-host, Suphisara Konlak of Thailand. The pair squares off in the semi-final bout of the tournament.
As understood, both athletes have already secured Bronze. The winner of the bout goes through to the final with a chance to become World Champion 2019.
