In one of the contests Rebekah Irwin takes on Crystal Lawson at women’s bantamweight. In another matchup Josh Jauncey faces Itay Gershon at lightweight. Both encounters are scheduled for three rounds.
American “Girl Power” Rebekah Irwin (6-2-0, 1 KO) and Crystal Lawson (2-1, 1 KO) were initially scheduled to square off at the previous event, GLORY 67 Orlando, held early July. The latter was forced to withdraw and was replaced by Taylor Jenkins, who went a three-round distance, yet dropped a unanimous decision.
Former lightweight title challenger Josh Jauncey (30-9-0, 15 KO) of Canada lost two of his previous bouts by unanimous decision against Tyjani Beztati and the division’s champion Sitthichai Sitsongpeenong this past May and last October (respectively). Before that he took a couple of split decision victories against Christian Baya and Stoyan Koprivienski.
Itay Gershon (16-5-0, 6 KO) of Israel is also coming off a defeat suffered by split decision against Luka Whelan at the same event in May, GLORY 65 Utrecht. Prior to that he was riding a three-fight win streak including the victories against Trevor Ragin, Justin Houghton and Rafal Dudek.
The headline bouts for GLORY 68 Miami and other matchups are expected to be announced shortly. The two-fight confirmed lineup can be found below.
