Muangthai faces Yamada at ONE Dreams of Gold
Muangthai PKSaenchaimuaythaigym and Kenta Yamada square off this coming Friday August 16 at the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand. The pair of bantamweights is featured on the ONE Championship event billed as “Dreams of Gold”. The contest is the only Muay Thai encounter presented on the main card held at the birth place of “The Art of Eight Limbs”.
The representative of the country-host Muangthai, 25, appears as the favorite. His resume includes dozens of Top 10 fights in Bangkok, which, among everything, earned him the 2016 and 2014 “Fighter of the Year” awards at the prestigious Lumpinee Boxing Stadium and Sports Authority of Thailand (respectively).
The Thai fighter however lost two of his previous bouts against his countrymen Yodpanomrung Jitmuangnon and Nuenglanlek Jitmuangnon in May and March (respectively). Before that Muangthai defeated his Thai-fellows Panpayak Jitmuangnon and Panpayak Sitchefboonthum, as well as Panicos Yusuf of Cyprus, which marked his ONE Championship debut in November 2018.
Kenta Yamada, 32, makes his third appearance at ONE Championship. In May he took a split decision against Deividas Danyla of Lithuania. Before that he lost by unanimous decision against Petchmorakot Petchyindee Academy of Thailand.
The Muangthai PKSaenchaimuaythaigym vs. Kenta Yamada bout is scheduled for three rounds.

In the main event of “ONE Dreams of Gold” Petchdam Petchyindee Academy defends his ONE Super Series Flyweight Kickboxing title against Ilias Ennahachi. In the co-main event Giorgio Petrosyan and Jo Nattawut faceoff for the second time battling it out in the semi-final of ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Grand Prix. Also on the main card, two-sport champion Stamp Fairtex takes on Asha Roka in the women’s MMA matchup, and Samy Sana and Dzhabar Askerov do battle in another semi-final of featherweight WGP.
