Women’s kickboxing battle between Tiffany Van Soest of the US and Jady Menezes of Brazil has been rebooked for the upcoming GLORY 68 event held at James L. Knight Center in Miami, Florida on September 29 (AEST). Former super bantamweight champions were initially matched for the previous show last month in Orlando, but the bout fell off when the representative of the country-host was forced to withdraw due to injury.
Tiffany Van Soest (19-4-1, 6 KO) lost her previous bout by split decision in a rematch against the division’s current champion Anissa Meksen. Before that she took a split decision against Sofia Olofsson and dropped a UD against Meksen, who became a new titleholder (at that time). Prior to that “Time Bomb” was riding the eight-fight win streak including the victories against Meryem Uslu, Amel Dehby, among others.
Jady Menezes (13-3-0, 5 KO) is also coming off the defeat against Meksen, who won the fight and reclaimed the title by TKO in the second round last November. The bout was their third outing with the current 2-1 record in favor of the reigning champion.
The winner of Van Soest vs. Menezes bout edges back into the contender picture. The women’s kickboxing contest is scheduled for three rounds.
In the main event of GLORY 68 Miami the current middleweight champion Alex Pereira of Brazil moves up a weight class taking on Donegi Abena of Suriname. The pair meets in the scheduled for five rounds encounter, battling it out for the interim light heavyweight title.
