The Battle 14 by WKN took place at the Faliro Olympic Indoor Hall in Athens, Greece on April 26, 2015. The event launched the collaboration between a prestigious sports governing, World Kickboxing Network, and the leading fight promotion in the country. The fight card was a mixed-bill comprising kickboxing, boxing, Muay Thai and mixed martial arts (MMA).
Alexey Ignashov vs. Antonis Tzoros
The headline bout saw the representative of the country-host Antonis Tzoros going up against K-1 kickboxing veteran Alexey Ignashov of Belarus. The pair battled it out for WKN International Super Heavyweight title. The encounter of heavy-hitters went a full distance and ended in favor of the guest, who scored a unanimous decision.
In his following bout Ignashov took a split decision against Dzevad Poturak at Bellator Kickboxing 9 and dropped a unanimous decision against Valentin Bordianu. Tzoros fought at the next editions of The Battle, scoring a unanimous decision against Omar Bellahmar and third round KO against Wieslaw Kwasniewski.
Marianna Kalergi vs. Ashley Gilson
In the feature fight Greek Marianna Kalergi took on Belgian Ashley Gilson. The women’s Muay Thai battle with WKN International Featherweight title on the line also went the distance. The verdict heard a unanimous decision in favor of the local athlete.
Post-fight Kalergi continued her modelling career as well as appeared in the Greek version of a reality show “Survivor”. Gilson twice appeared in the women’s kickboxing series “Girl Power” as well as in “Simply the Best“.

Among other bouts featured on The Battle 14 fight card Giorgos Mavrogiannis scored a unanimous decision against his country-fellow Dimitris Delis and took WKN Greek Heavyweight title. In his next bout Mavrogiannis took part in the WKN European Heavyweight Grand Prix in Nitra, Slovakia, yet fell short against semi-finalist Martin Pacas.
Stelios Papadopoulos vs. Hussein Sussen
In addition, super welterweights Hussein Sussen and Stelios Papadopoulos went toe to toe during four rounds of boxing. The latter came out victorious scoring a unanimous decision, which was a launch of a successful professional career which continued in the US.
The event was presented by Stefanos Konstantinidis. President of World Kickboxing Network Stephane Cabrera attended the event. The previous edition of The Battle, No. 18, was held last April featuring WKN Greek Light Heavyweight Grand Prix.
