Two-division champion Amanda Nunes makes her next bantamweight title defense on December 15 (AEST). Battling it out at UFC 245 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, NV, she faces Germaine de Randamie, the promotion announced (via Twitter) on Tuesday (AEST).

In addition the pair meets for the second time. Their first outing in November 2013 ended in favor of the current champion, who scored the first-round stoppage in a non-title bout. The upcoming championship clash is scheduled for five rounds.

Amanda Nunes (18-4) earned UFC Women’s Bantamweight title against Miesha Tate in July 2016. In her first defense she stopped Ronda Rousey in the opening round. After that “The Lioness” retained her belt by split decision against Valentina Shevchenko, and the fifth round TKO against Raquel Pennington.

Last December Nunes claimed UFC Women’s Featherweight strap by knockout in the first round against former champion Cris Cyborg, and became the first female fighter in the promotion’s history to hold two titles simultaneously. In her previous outing she made her fourth successful bantamweight title defense by TKO in the first round against Holly Holm.

Germaine de Randamie (9-3) is riding the five-fight win streak. After facing the defeat against Nunes end of 2013, she returned to MMA action in March 2015 and stopped Larissa Pacheco in the second round. In her following bout “The Iron Lady” earned “Performance of the Night” when she scored the first-round TKO against Anna Elmose.

De Randamie had also held UFC Women’s Featherweight title, winning the inaugural strap by unanimous decision against Holm, but was latter stripped of the title reportedly “due to unwillingness to fight Cyborg”. She returned to bantamweight in February 2017, and since then scored a unanimous decision against Pennington, and the first round TKO against Aspen Ladd, which was her most recent bout this past July.

Among other bouts scheduled for UFC 245 Jessica Eye takes on Viviane Aaujo at women’s flyweight. Other matchups are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
