WKN European Lightweight champ Antonio Campoy is a recent addition to the GLORY Kickboxing athlete roster. Yes, the one you have most likely seen performing an extravaganza spin kick in a video shared on Facebook after his title win early last month (below).
“GLORY has signed Spanish lightweight Antonio Campoy to a multi-fight, multi-year deal. Campoy is the current reigning WKN European Lightweight champion and WKN Spanish Lightweight champion. He won the European title in July, adding it his collection of domestic Spanish championships, and has now earned a call up to the international stage,” the organization announced on Wednesday.
Antonio Campoy claimed WKN European Gold by unanimous decision against Daniel Ghercioiu of Italy. Earlier in his career the representative of Team Calvet earned Spanish national title against Rafa Valle, as well as successfully defended his belt against Eric Garcia.
The Spanish competitor joins the list of WKN champions participating in GLORY World Series, alongside very popular “Slovakian Giant” Tomas Mozny, among others. Campoy is expected to make his debut in the near future. The date, place and opponent are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
