Jeff Horn faces Michael Zerafa in WBA Oceania middleweight title fight

Australian boxers Jeff Horn and Michael Zerafa square off tonight (August 31) at Bendigo Stadium in Bendigo, Australia. The pair meets in the scheduled for ten rounds championship bout with WBA Oceania middleweight title on the line.

In his previous bout last November Jeff Horn (19-1-1, 13 KO) stopped his Australian fellow Anthony Mundine in the first round to take WBA Oceania and WBO Oriental middleweight belts. Before that the 31-year-old Brisbane boxer suffered the first defeat in his professional boxing career when he lost WBO World Welterweight title by TKO in the ninth round against Terence Crawford, which snapped his undefeated streak including a notable victory over Manny Pacquiao earned in July 2017.

Michael Zerafa (26-3, 15 KO) of Melbourne won his previous outing this past April by knockout in the second round against Les Sherrington. Before that 27-year-old dropped a unanimous decision against Kell Brook, which also snapped his eight-fight win streak.

A day before the fight show the competitors stepped on the scales to make it official. The defending WBA Oceania middleweight champion, Horn weighed-in at 72.5 kg. The challenger, Zerafa declared 72.3 kg.
