NZ kickboxing star Brad Riddell joins UFC 243 in Melbourne

Brad Riddell of New Zealand is a recent addition the roster of UFC 243. MMA event is held on October 6 at Marvel Stadium in Melbourne, Australia. New Zealand kickboxing and Muay Thai star makes his promotional debut at lightweight, facing an opponent who is yet to be named, NZ Herald reported on Monday.

Riddell is well-known in kickboxing circuits, with a number of wins including against Australian John Wayne Parr at Caged Muay Thai. To date he has scored the 6-1 record in MMA, and is riding the three-fight win streak.

In his previous outing mid July “Quake” Riddell scored a unanimous decision against Mikey Vaotuua. Before that he stopped Maxim Pugachev and Shem Murdoch prior to the final bell.

The promotion is yet to formally announce Brad Riddell’s signing.

In the main event of UFC 243 Robert Whittaker and Israel Adesanya square off in the middleweight championship unification.

Also on the card Holly Holm takes on Raquel Pennington at women’s bantamweight, and Dan Hooker faces Al Iaquinta at lightweight. The current lineup and announced list of matchups can be found below.
