2019 Chungju World Martial Arts Masterships
The sport of Muay Thai was featured on the roster of 2019 Chungju World Martial Arts Masterships. The event held from August 29 to September 6 in Chungju-si, South Korea, showcases as many as 20 disciplines, including Taekwondo, Judo, Aikido, Savate (French boxing).

The final day of competition saw elite athletes battling it out for medals. The International Federation of Muaythai Associations (IFMA) announced the winners.
Among the bouts, Nili Block of Israel claimed gold in the 60 kg women’s class with the win against Taylor McClatchie of Canada. The representative of Kingdom of Thailand Norapat Khundam defeated Dimos Asimakopoulos of Greece to become champion in their respective weight class, while American Ashley Thiner defeated Czech Viktorie Bulinova, and Israeli Itai Gayer came out victorious over Rhyse Saliba of Australia. The list of winners also includes the likes of Miguel Angel Padilla of Mexico, Enis Yunusoglu of Turkey, Aleksandr Abramov of Russia.

The next on amateur Muay Thai calendar is European Championships held in Minsk, Belarus from September 28 to October 6. The country is widely considered as one of the strongest in “The Art of Eight Limbs”.
