The scheduled for five rounds championship bout didn’t go the distance. The encounter ended 3 minutes and 52 seconds in the first round, and was declared No Contest due to an accidental eye poke received by the challenger. The champion retained his title.

The event also launched the 16-Man Featherweight World Grand Prix. Among the first round bouts Derek Campos scored a unanimous decision against Daniel Straus, and Adam Borics stopped Pat Curran in Round 1. In addition, Pedro Carvalho and Emmanuel Sanchez submitted their respective opponents Sam Sicilia and Tywan Claxton in the second round.
