Sergey Morozov defends M-1 Challenge Bantamweight title in rematch against Josh Rettinghouse
Russian MMA promotion “M-1 Global” announced its next event scheduled for October 19 in Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan. The event features a pair of title bouts following a series of undercard matchups.
In the main event Sergey Morozov makes the first defense of his M-1 Challenge Bantamweight title against Josh Rettinghouse. The pair meets for the second time. Their first bout late 2016 ended in favor of the latter. The upcoming championship bout is scheduled for five rounds.

The representative of the country-host Sergey Morozov (15-4) is a newly crowned champion, who earned the belt by TKO in the fourth round against previously undefeated Akexander Osetrov this past June. Prior to that he scored the first-round KO against Bakytbek Duishobaev, a unanimous decision against Bair Shtepin, and the first-round stoppage win against Zaka Fatullazade.
Josh Rettinghouse (16-4) of the US is riding the six-fight win streak. He returns to action since November 2017, when he took a split decision against Aleksandr Lunga. Before that he submitted Bakhtiyar Toychubaev in the second round and knocked out Morozov in the first round of their non-title bout.
The co-main event at M-1 Challenge 105 features Chris Kelades in defense of his interim flyweight title against Arman Ashimov. The contest is also scheduled for five rounds.
Canadian mixed martial artist Chris Kelades (14-4) took the interim strap early August by unanimous decision against Alexander Pletenko in a rematch. Before that dropped a unanimous decision against the latter, which snapped his three-fight win streak, including the victories against Oleg Lichkovakha, Keehan Oliver and Tyler Shinn.

Local MMA fighter Arman Ashimov (11-3-1) is the former interim champion in the division, who is victorious in three of his previous bouts. Late last month he scored a unanimous decision against Flavio da Silva Santos, following a unanimous decision against Kayck Alencar, and the second-round submission against Christian Garcia Collado.
The reigning champion in the division Alexander Doskalchuk, who has been sidelined due to injury. He is expected to face the winner of Kelades vs. Ashimov in the championship unification at the future event.
Other bouts for M-1 Challenge 105 are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
