UFC Mexico fight card, Rodriguez vs. Stephens

Following the event held in Vancouver, Canada this past weekend, the Ultimate Fighting Championship comes Mexico with UFC Fight Night 159 taking place at Mexico City Arena on September 22 (AEST). Top of the bill on ESPN+ features a featherweight battle between Yair Rodriguez and Jeremy Stephens. The contest is scheduled for five rounds.


The co-main event is a women’s MMA battle between strawweights Carla Esparza and Alexa Grasso. The encounter is scheduled for three rounds.

Also on the main card Brandon Moreno takes on Askar Askarov at flyweight, and Irene Aldana meets Vanessa Melo at women’s bantamweight. In addition, Martin Bravo and Steven Peterson do battle at featherweight, kicking off the main card.

The preliminary card is headlined by Jose Alberto Quinonez and Carlos Huachin squaring off at bantamweight. Among other bouts, Marco Polo Reyes goes up against Kyle Nelson at featherweight, and Ariane Carnelossi and Angela Hill meet at women’s strawweight.
