The United Arab Emirates have been a prominent host of the world-class combat sports events. Earlier this month the Ultimate Fighting Championship has held a blockbuster UFC 242 in Abu Dhabi, where Khabib Nurmagomedov and Dustin Poirier squared off in the lightweight championship unification. In 2017 the World Kickboxing Network visited Dubai, where Yohan Lidon faced Patrik Vidakovics in defense of his WKN World Super Middleweight title.

The time has come for representatives of “The Art of Eight Limbs”, Muay Thai, to showcase their skills in the capital of UAE.
“With UAE successful performance in recent years the orgnisers promise full house every day as local athletes became famous for their victories at the international competitions,” International Federation of Muaythai Associations reported.
Asian Muay Thai Championships follows the concept of Olympic-system tournament. To take Gold the competitor has to go through the opening-round, semi-final and final (depending on the number of participants in each particular division). The bouts are contested among men and women in their respective age and weight classes.
